Power Consumption — Video Tutorial

Short video guide and the minimal procedure to reproduce the reported power measurements.

Video

Quick checklist

  1. Confirm power monitor connected to VBAT & GND and calibrated.
  2. Open serial console and verify firmware.
  3. Record idle current, then trigger sleep modes and record stable readings.
  4. Run active tests (iperf 1-minute streams) to capture peaks.
  5. Export logs and save peak/average values.

Core steps

  1. Configure power-supply logging (set range & sampling for low-current capture).
  2. Connect hardware (VBAT, GND; remove jumpers as needed).
  3. Use serial console to enter sleep modes or start tests.
  4. Start logging, perform actions, wait for stable readings, then stop and export.
  5. Compare results with expected values and the comprehensive report.

Tools & expected values

  • Power monitor (model & sampling per your lab). Suggested sampling: 10 kHz for peak capture.

  • Serial tool: 115200 baud. Router: HUAWEI AX3 Pro (for DTIM tests). Phone: Honor 70 (AP tests).

  • Expected: Deep sleep ≈ 16.3 uA; Light sleep ≈ 77.7 uA; DTIM1 light sample ≈ 6.02 mA.

  • Data source: FGM842D Comprehensive Test Report (Comprehensive-Test-Report).

  • Note: Measurements may vary between firmware versions — record the module firmware version when taking measurements. The above data were obtained using the AT firmware. For flashing instructions, see AT Firmware Flashing Guide
