Installation of Cooling Fin and Cooling Fan
QuecPi Alpha has excellent performance, which also leads to significant CPU heat generation. An active cooler is an alternative cooling solution to ensure the stable operation of QuecPi Alpha. The active cooler combines a large metal heat sink with a PWM fan that is also powered and controlled through a fan connector and connected to the PCB of QuecPi Alpha using a pair of spring pins in the mounting holes. QuecPi Alpha does not have a cooling fin or cooling fan by default, so you need to install it yourself. You can purchase an active cooler from Waveshare: https://www.waveshare.net/shop/Pi5-Active-Cooler-B.htm.
The active cooler is an anodized aluminum heatsink that is monolithically constructed for optimal heat dissipation. It has a built-in cooling fan and includes a pre-coated thermal conductive pad for heat transfer.
Installation steps:
Directly insert the cooler into the FAN connector provided by PCB.
Wire the cooler to the 40-pin header, with black wire (GND) to Pin 6 and red wire (5V) to Pin 4.
